Humpday Bumpday: 32 Weeks

Wednesday, August 27, 2014

How far along: 32 weeks. I feel like between this week and last, my belly has grown a tremendous amount. I know this not only because of how it looks and feels, but because strangers touch my belly now.
Gender: GIRL!
Weight gain: 26 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Yes. Does it look like this bump will fit into anything else?!
Stretch marks: Nope. And although I've heard time and time again, it's all genetics (thanks, Mom) I still have to give a shout out to Mustela because all the lathering I do on the daily can't be for nothing.
Belly button in or out: In. I think? Whatever it is, it's having a massive identity crisis.
Sleep: Sleep has still been pretty good this week. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
Best moment this week: Erik and I made the most hilarious video of Kobe. Well, I think it was humorous, you might think we're a bunch of weirdos. And in case we're not Instagram friends and you missed it, you can find it here.
Miss anything: Labor Day is this weekend, so that means drinks by the pool and BBQ. Can you guess what I'll miss?!
Happy or Moody: Happy!
Movement: I'm pretty amazed baby girl can still pull off such big movements, although some of them are much slower, leading me to believe it's becoming cramped quarters in there.
Cravings: Peanut butter and oreos... not together, but I'm not opposed to that either.
Symptoms: A humongous belly and a teeny tiny bladder.
Looking forward to: My bestie coming to visit this weekend!!! And the shepherd's pie I'm planning to make for din. Look for the recipe later this week because it is delicious and a damn shame it took my tastebuds 25 years to find it.

Humpday Bumpday: 31 Weeks

Wednesday, August 20, 2014

How far along: 31 weeks. I cannot believe there are only 60 more days until my due date!!
Gender: GIRL!
Weight gain: 26 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Heck yes
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In and hanging on for dear life
Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good this week. There's even been a couple nights I didn't have to get up to go pee. It's a Christmas miracle!
Best moment this week: We had our maternity photos this evening and our photographer was amazeballs. I can't think of anything more awkward than posing among shrubbery, but she made us super comfortable and I can't wait to see the photos!
Miss anything: Bending over at the waist. It was quite the extravaganza trying to put my shoes on this morning.
Happy or Moody: Happy!
Movement:  We went to see Guardians of the Galaxy this weekend (highly recommend) and between the movie being so loud and a large icee, the baby moved around for the entire 2 hours.
Cravings: Cinnamon rolls and fruit
Symptoms: My belly growing at an exponential rate. Does that count?
Looking forward to: Finishing the nursery and seeing our maternity photos!

Fondue and Fake Wine

Tuesday, August 19, 2014

Yesterday Erik & I celebrated our 5 year dating anniversary. I'm not really sure what the anniversary protocol is now that we're engaged, but I still like to remind him August 18 is the day we decided (after we couldn't remember the actual date) that we officially started dating.
Did you know I dumped Erik just months after we started dating? I was such a biatch. Seriously. But  at the time I felt like having a serious boyfriend was really cramping my style. (#21yearoldproblems). So long story short, I broke up with Erik over the phone (he was living 2 hours away in Tucson at the time), he drove up to Phoenix just to bring me a card and some wine, I basically kicked him out of my house, and went out that night with some friends. I warned you I was a biatch.
This all happened right before Spring Break, which we both conveniently planned to spend in San Diego (separately) but as fate would have it, our paths crossed and I stopped being such a bizzle and he won me back. I would have ran far faaaaaaaar away if I was him. And I thank my lucky stars all the time that he didn't. It pains me think about what a brat I was, but we can look back at it now and laugh, right?

We can laugh and enjoy a 5 year dating anniversary dinner, complete with fondue and fake wine (apple juice).

The man even brought me Starbucks this morning, and not only did he remember the soy, but extra hot too. And to think I once dumped him...

Humpday Bumpday: 30 Weeks

Wednesday, August 13, 2014

Here I am showing up on the ol' blog again just for Humpday Bumpday. Does it count that I think about blogging other days of the week? No? Yes? No. It was at least a good thought that once I went back to work I'd get into a "routine" and blog "more." Speaking of work, kids are hilarious. They have no shame in just staring at my belly. Or rubbing my belly and laughing. Or asking me every single day if I had the baby yet. Or telling me soon I'm going to go to the doctor and have the baby and scream a lot. Kids.

We also started making some real progress on the nursery this weekend. My mom brought down the crib and some other furniture & goodies that we got at our shower a few weeks ago.
Of course we also had to make sure the baby monitor worked.

I think we're ready to be parents.

How far along: 30 weeks
Gender: GIRL!
Weight gain: 25 lbs.
Maternity clothes: All maternity pants, but I'm still using some non-maternity tops and dresses. It's like a fun game every day of Wonder What I Can Get To Fit.
Stretch marks: Nada.
Belly button in or out: It's still in but if I exhale deeply enough I can get it to pop out. It is the most bizarre thing. And also a great party trick.
Sleep: I have to get up at least once a night to pee and it's getting increasingly difficult to fall back asleep. Cue the world's tiniest violin... pity party of one.
Best moment this week: Erik brought me Starbucks this morning, it seriously makes my day when he decides we need some Starbucks in our lives! Baby loves soy chai lattes.
Miss anything: Sleep and energy. Makes sense, right?
Happy or Moody: Happy!
Movement:  I would love to have a window into my belly sometimes to actually see some of these crazy moves I'm feeling. But that would be really weird, also.
Cravings: Chocolate, peanut butter, cinnamon anything, orange soda, hamburgers.
Queasy or sick: Feeling good!
Symptoms: Fatigue is definitely making a comeback. Going to bed every night by 8 o'clock sounds phenomenal.
Looking forward to: Our maternity photos next Wednesday!

Humpday Bumpday: 29 Weeks

Wednesday, August 6, 2014

In my last post I mentioned Erik was the best at taking the worst photos of me. So that's where this week's gem of a bumpdate photo comes from, the photographer extraordinaire himself.

How far along: 29 weeks. There is part of me that feels like I have been pregnant forever and part of me that can't believe there's only 11 weeks until my due date.
Gender: GIRL!
Weight gain: 25 lbs. (insert monkey emoji with hands over eyes)
Maternity clothes: My coworker reminded me the other day of when I said I wasn't going to wear maternity clothes this entire pregnancy. We both laughed.
Stretch marks: Nope.
Belly button in or out: Stilllllllll in.
Sleep: After being back at work for a week, I sleep like a baby (ha!)
Best moment this week: My appetite is finally back! Yay food!
Miss anything: Clothes of the non-maternity variety.
Happy or Moody: Happy!
Movement: She moves around like crazy when I'm at work, future teacher? ;)
Cravings: Chocolate, macaroni & cheese, peanut butter
Queasy or sick: Feeling good!
Symptoms: My feet hurt sooooooooo much after work. But I'll stay pregnant forever if that means getting a foot massage everyday. JOKES.
Looking forward to: My mom is bringing our crib down this weekend, so the nursery will finally start coming together!

Babymoonin'

Monday, August 4, 2014

It took a little work convincing Erik that Babymoons were a real thing, but I finally got him on board! After he spent an afternoon at a local resort for work, he decided that's where our babymoon would take place, and I wasn't opposed. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, I love a staycation.

I also love (not) the awkward photos Erik takes of me. He managed to make me look like a giant in this picture. I'm actually standing on a wall, which you would never know since he cut off my feet. ANYWHO. Moving along..

I Googled "Can pregnant women go on waterslides?" And the answer that summed it up quite perfectly was, "If it's fun, you probably can't do it while pregnant." So I didn't venture down the slide myself, but I got some pretty good shots of Erik.

We had great views...

Great food...

And overall a fabulous time!
